Our Story

Sisters Village, Inc. began with a mission trip to the north coast of the Dominican Republic in 2008 and in Jan 2017, officially formed as a nonprofit. There is clearly much need in the DR; our partnerships in country keep us aware of changing concerns in multiple villages in the Sosua and Jimani areas . We continued support throughout the pandemic with remote initiatives (food and school shoes) and virtual/hybrid events on Zoom.  Our focus on health education allows us to serve in schools, provide community health clinics (including primary care, pregnancy support, and infant development screenings), and collaborate with local medical professionals.  Serving alongside our Dominican sisters provides many benefits, from greater cultural understanding to awareness of our deep similarities, regardless of language challenges.
Our on-the-ground projects have grown organically, and build sustainable impact-
particularly our exciting expansion into health care scholarships for Dominican students.
From the beginning, God has directed each step and shown us how
we can learn together — "Aprendemos juntos".

Hebrews 10:23-24 is our inspiration— “We must hold on to the hope we have, never hesitating to tell people about it. We can trust God to do what he promised. We should think about each other to see how we can encourage each other to show love and do good works.”

All donations are fully tax deductible- providing equipment, supplies and health care scholarships
for our Dominican Republic initiatives, as well as networking
and collaborative efforts here in the US.
